Formerly the Museum of Visual Materials, Mosaic proudly occupies a historic and unique quartzite and brick building in uptown Sioux Falls. Originally built in 1887, the 500 North Main Avenue building was first occupied by the Consolidated Tank Line Company and later became the Standard Oil Company. When Standard Oil moved to a larger building, Midland/Seagram’s Distributing Co. took over ownership. For many years, the property was vacant until Dr. Rose Faithe purchased it in 2005. Dr. Faithe renovated the building to its current beautiful and historic state, incorporating many recycled materials and energy efficient practices. We are proud to be South Dakota’s first LEED platinum certified green building. Now, classroom and event attendees are able to visit and enjoy this unique building located in the exciting and energetic Sioux Falls uptown!
